It was pouring rain today and I got my p2139/p2140 codes back today. No issues though

According to the DTCs
1. p-2139- app throttle / petal position sensor/ switch D/F voltage correlation difference in sensor reading
2. p-2140 app throttle / petal position sensor / switch E/F diff in sensor reading.
like you said when things get wet readings get wack problem would be wet boot's hitting the app at petal or leak from wind shield dripping on app, the good thing and I'm not going to say it, if the truck is still running good

Update: happened both times it rained last week. Pedal died...and now it doesn't work when you restart it. Usually takes a while to work again. This is so frustrating. Same codes..

Definite pattern sounds like rain = wet = short

Especially on a Super Duty, leaking windshields seem to come up every week in the SD Forum. Maybe pull the A-pillar cover and the driver's kick plate trim cover to lift up the carpet and look for water. Then if you can see, as far up the firewall as you can over the pedal.s

Water intrusion, for sure but what in the engine bay could also cause this and throw the codes? Where does the pedal harness route to?

Asking because I seriously don't know and can't look right now.

My windshield used to leak down by the E-brake area

I would ohm the pedal harness each wire to the PCM dry then get the hose on it and see what one opens circuit

You going to be checking for continuity to the body and or frame I assume this will happen when it gets wet

was pouring this morning and it died a few times. was barely sprinkling on my way home and the roads weren't terribly wet and it died 6 times in like 500 feet.... and now whenever it dies, the water in fuel light keeps coming back on

Yes bad weather pack plug letting water or wire with chaff

Could be a vref getting wet to

Did the harness get changed I remember tAlk about it

drove like 400 miles over the weekend, through pouring rain, and lots of puddles...without 1 issue...

it never acts up when i have this girl with me, so maybe i should keep her around lol
