If this snow and cold weather would go away, I will get mine on. What color were your ATS Front springs? Mine are gray. I am thinking of rattle bombing them black.

Both my front and rear ATS springs came black.

It'd give you a reason to press in new bushings :-P

You are correct. And I have a new 20 ton press that I like finding reasons to use. However these are new springs from ATS and already have new bushings. I gave them a few coats of matte black tractor paint this weekend. At least they are easy to reach if it all flakes off.

Unicorn, did you have to clearance any of the modded B code springs? I had to trim it a bit to do the initial install, and then again today when I had the new MBRP muffler adjusted.

I'm running the stock exhaust, and the springs I ordered were C codes. I'm pretty sure my stock exhaust makes a sharper angle and starts a little further back.

Using that overload leaf as a spacer, you could probably cut that off a few more inches off that spacer without any issues.

How does yours sit with your B-codes? Did you do V's up front too?

Hey, I jumped outside and took a couple of pictures. Mine look a little different because they came from ATS as pre-modded "C" codes.

Your exhaust is a little different than stock. You could extend your tail pipe before the bend, or you could trim your spacer.

I hope this helps!

Mine are modded oem used b codes, with 4" MBRP exhaust. I couldn't get my springs in without major clearance issues. I on hooked it from the frame, let the exhaust relax and got the springs then reattached the exhaust

It's close, it appears to have not touched after 1500 or so miles.

It gains clearance under load, and loses it on rebound.

I thought that bottom flat spring is removed when installed in the Excursion?

The bottom overload spring is left in place during the swap. Its the top single overload spring that you have to remove or it will eat up your AC lines, plus the ex doesn't have the spring pads for it to land on, so it would do no good.

I am driving up to OKC tomorrow to use the Tinker hobby shop and I should finally get my springs installed! I will do before and after measurements and put them on that thread, but right now all my parts are in the back and it wont be accurate until I get there and unload.

That particular spring is not the stock bottom EX spring, if thats what you meant, it's the bottom spring of the B pack.

Unicorn, I opted for the X codes up front. I have about a 2.5" rake from rear to front now... not sure what it was before. I wanted a beefier front spring setup because I am thinking about putting a Buckstop bumper with a winch up front and maybe using a front receiving hitch for bikes, etc.

That's why I went X codes up front too. Planning

I am really happy with the X codes. I need to get the shop cleared out so I can take some good final measurements.

Retired Army, can't stop planning ahead, it's part of the Excursion campaign!

By the way, now that the muffler is properly cleared on the firewall / rear spring, I can really hear the beauty of the 4" MBRP. At the same time, I had this fixed I had to have my rear sway bar adjusted by a professional.

I suffered from the same misalignment as below. Now that it's adjusted correctly... and my ABS light is finally fixed, I can really enjoy how the rear B Codes feel with the sway bar. Before it was just really stiff and would give any roll in a curve.
