Got the back up alarm on my new truck, love it even tho it sounds like a garbage truck backing up, but sure catches folks attention. Would like to be able to turn it off at times.
NOTE: this is not the back up alarm that can be turned off on the dash, this is the LOUD alarm on commercial vehicles, yes its OEM-option on my F 350. Dealer knows nothing...
One is the standard BEEP-BEEP-BEEP alarm. The other is a Voice that says "Attention, this vehicle is backing up" and says it rather loudly....But, it does get the attention of everyone around. Usually results in a few grins, giggles and eye rolling looks, but I haven't run over anyone in reverse since the installation.
As an added benefit it does get to my wife when she hears it and people stare in our direction...LOL!!!
Simple installation, ground one wire and tap the other into the back up light wire of the trailer harness.
The back up alarm is supposed to be a dealer installed option. I see no reason why a simple weather proof On/OFF switch couldn't be installed between the power supply and the alarm which would be the easiest way to do it. Or you could run a wire all the way up to the cab and do the same thing by installing a simple rocker switch in cab.
We have a quiet neighborhood and I am up and going at the butt crack of dawn many days. I tied my backup alarm to upfitter switch #4 so that I do not annoy the neighbors unnecessarily, but in a supermarket parking lot I can turn it on and off as needed.

Perhaps, but I ordered my '15 and it was an RPO and I checked the box...pricey at $125 IIRC, but I haul a camper in the bed of my rig and even tho I have cameras I want folks to know I am backing up.
WOW, you really scared me, thought you were going to suggest I use my outfitter switches Actually my wife can wire those up, she has small hands, very small and even she would like to meet the engineer that designed that product...

Was yours an OEM at the factory install or did you add the alarm? I ask as believe me it is buried up under the bed and who knows where the wires go to??????
Since I spend all my time in campgrounds and don't like to have the alarm going off when hooking up early in the mornings, I put a relay in the circuit to turn it on and off. Control for the relay comes from one of my upfitter switches. Simple one line installation from upfitter connection to operate connection on the relay, ground at the rear of the truck. Cut the input wire for the alarm and put the relay into the circuit.

Mine was OEM. You will find the connection to the wiring harness just aft of the spare tire near the alarm box.
And in agreement with glsurratt (who looks like he knows what 'haze grey and underway' means) about not disturbing a nice quiet campground!!!

Reason: Additional info
According to the Ford service DVD for 2015....there is a Parking Aid Module down by the upfitter relays....There is a two wire connector that feeds the Parking Aid Speaker in the rear.....This connector has
rear sounder (+) - BN-BU (brown with blue stripe)
rear sounder (-) - BU-GN (blue with green strip)
This might help you to hook a relay to turn the speaker on and off via one of the upfitter switches.
You guys are a world of knowledge and help, thanks so much. Yea, don't want to wake folks up like a 4 am garbage truck in downtown ChiTown. Will tell my wife about the one wire setup to the upfitter switch, she can get her hands in there and she likes playing with electrons so she does most of the wiring around the ranch...
