1999 7.3 van build thread
I followed along in amazement because I have a 7.3 E-350 and I know first hand how tricky mods can be with the lack of space and aftermarket products that just bolt in. The instrument panel modification and swap was mind boggling! I went back through wondering what vehicle the front flares are originally from? Maybe I missed it but they look great with good tire coverage too!

To many to list.
This project is getting close to being finished. Both of us have been driving the van and been working some of the little bugs out of the truck.
First of all, the van tended to have a "darting" issue. The front end wanted to dart around in the potholes. I went ahead and built a trac bar for the van.
Here is the frame side of the bracket.
I modified the axle side bracket by narrowing it and welding it all back together.
I don't have pictures of the next few things, but we were having issues with the tuning and the transmission. The truck was smoking terribly, weather at start up or after running for awhile. An ATS transmission was swapped in, and the injectors were checked again. I found 4 injectors that were leaking, and 2 injector cups that were cracked. After putting the van back together, we were still experiencing some trans troubles. Some time was put in with the tuner, and these issues were resolved.
I also added some heat shield and protection. I made a new heat shield for the turbo.
From there, I took some advise from a fellow member and added some protection around the fuel filters and pump.
From there, it was on to some fun items

First thing that was added was the roof rack.
Of course the rack is not enough, so an awning was added.
What good is that nice rack if you cant get to it, so a ladder was added.
And if your going to have a huge van, you have to be able to see where your going, so a 52" Rigid LED light was added to the van.
Then we are on to the interior.
Adding 200 ft^2 of sound deadening to the interior.
4 of these seats were added to the cabin. The front seats were replaced with a pair of seats that match these 4. These seats recline, and the foot rest come up for very relaxed passenger.
And the topper of the interior will be the headliner. This is an in process picture, but it will be busy on the roof. Speakers, TV, LED lighting and more.
