Heck I figured it would have been more smokey honestly. That 366 spools very nice.
Did Tony's tunes fix the cold issue as well?
Yea its not too bad, haven't got a max boost reading as Ive only done two hits and didn't bother to watch the boost gauge. But yes, it did fix the cold issues it seems, runs great.
Was that a little tranny slip there at the end on the 2-3 upshift?
... Yes.. it may have been . I have watched the video about 50x and honestly I cant remember if I let out of hit then back in, or if it is indeed slipping.
But I already emailed Tony and asked if he could firm up the shifts a bit in the race tune. The gearhead tunes were a bit firmer, and just in the race tune I would like it to bang a bit more.
From the video, it is hard to tell if it did indeed slip a little or whether it is what you said and you let out of it and then got back into it and the T/C unlocked. Confounded slushboxes, they do the darndest things...
Hey guys,
Been a while since I updated this thread! Have been down to RRE, drove hard it hard, heated the tranny up something fierce, got to see a bunch of you guys, made pancakes, got home. In general truck has been doing well. But as always, still working out some kinks here and there.
While at RRE, truck went on the dyno. Its made 389/715 at the wheels, which was actually a bit disappointing. That said, all three runs it did a weird fluttering thing right where I feel it would have made its peak numbers, have a look and a listen here.
Anyone have an idea what this is^? This was a non-loaded dyno, truck dosnt do this at WOT on the road (or the dirt track)
I have since gone back down to the valves, and found that while I didnt measure the first time and just did the generic 0.030 shim, I actually needed 0.045 shim . My bad, (and thank you Aaron for the valve spring micrometer). I dont think it's going to solve what happened on the dyno, but it will be one thing that will be as it should.
If you guys have any suggestions on the dyno video, let me know! Thanks guys.
Didn't your ICP drop way down near the end of the run?
Not on the dyno, ICP gets pulled down during road driving to ~2200 at WOT in the race tune. Wildmans tunes are a bit better for this, the gearhead tunes pulled it down worse..

Oil temp was 190*, truck was warmed up before hand and ready to go. Is the free rev some sort of test or something?
