So the wiper switch went south, I ordered a new one w/intermittent option only to find out (from this forum, search is a great function) that I need the control box as well. So, I ordered the whole shebang from Ebay and installed it today. And it works - sort of...
The wipers will work only if Im pushing down on the switch, like if you were to use the washers. Ive seen here where some guys say plug and play, others say you have to reverse wires . I take it that this will solve my issue? If so, what wires are reversed?
Okay, I read that other thread too, I was going to upgrade my 77 F250 to intermittent wipers also. I have the switch and governor out of a 79 cougar but they have different plugs (pin terminals instead of spades) too bad I didn't get the plug out of the car! So just a heads up to anyone switching to these, watch to make sure to get the plug also when grabbing the set up. Now I'll just grab one out of a newer pickup.
ok, well not only is the plug missing the connector but so is the switch that came w/it. luckily I have an intermittent switch so now I have to try to add a wire to the connector. I hope to hell it works...
Well, this didn't work and I don't understand why. The set up I bought off of Ebay, the control box and wiper switch was missing 1 connecter - its one for the 2 prong plug (its an 80's box). I had a intermittent wiper switch that I bought specifically for my 76, it had the prong. So, hooked it up to the control box and added a wire to give the 2 prong plug 2 wires. Now all I get is washers, no wiper at all. Before, w/only 1 connector working, I had wipers when I pushed the **** in, no washer though. Help?

Posting the somewhat obvious but the dash bezel requires removal anything i should watch out for when taking it off? also is bulb replacement on the gauges a huge PITA or should i do it all at once? Any links to such threads are appreciated...Thanks...Mo
I was asking about it, as you are doing the exact thing I plan for tomorrow. If you need a box I have drawer full of them I have scavenged over the years.

The control box is from an 87, PN E7TF 17C476-CA
Definitely sounds like something is crossed. So this may help. The first link is the wiring schematic for a 76. The second for an 88. You may be able to tell what should line up and swap as necessary.
