Morning Rob. We could use some rain, just to wash the salt off the roads.

The property that I'm heading out to survey today is partly occupied by a wood recycling site. They take in yard debris and turn it into mulch. Basically it's about 100,000 yards of stinky composting organic material.
On top of the pile was a mid-sized excavator. As we got closer I could see that the entire engine compartment and back part of the cab had been involved in a fire. The machine looked like a near total loss.
They had a D7 sized dozer smoothing out a path and the area around the excavator. Their plan was to push the excavator off the pile and onto the ground.
I don't think that the equipment that they had was big enough to do the job. I'm hoping that it wasn't a success and that today we'll get to see a really good show.
Not a good place to have a fire, on a giant pile of wood chips!!
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 35.7 and clear. Sun is still hiding below the eastern horizon. Red sky in morning, Sailor take warning.....
