Hey all! And how is the weather in Montana? I was born and raised in Missoula. Haven't been back since 79, really want to get up there again, pretty country.

Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. In for a bite of lunch then off to the ranch.
Dad has a check engine light on his 2002 Taurus so I'm going to take my scan gauge II out and see if it will read the codes. Said he had the codes read in town but apparently it could be one of several things in the emissions system. They told him to take it to Ford to avoid putting a lot of money into a parts crap shoot. Ford wants $99 to hook the machine up...kind of wondering if it could be something really simple like a bad gas cap.
Whoever read the codes didn't give him the codes or a print out so I'll see what I can pull up, if I can pull them up, and then do some research.

Jim, 2002 Taurus; is it a OBDII or a OBD1? My 93 Taurus was throwing a EGR code; the 93 has 3 parts in the EGR system. Code would not say witch part it was. There is a EGR senser, solenoid and valve. I went to a You pull it yard and fond the the parts and change the one at a time and fond which one it was; the solenoid.
