I went Wednesday for a surgical consult.....

Surgeon says there is no surgery that can fix the arthritis and even if he fixes all discs there is no way to stop pain from the joint and bone growth. Looks like my aspirations of being a gymnast are over......

My arthritis started with both my thumbs, now into the rest of the hand and my shoulders. Two Aleve in the morning and it's bearable.

It does suck, but we must go on.
Looks like I'm making another trip for my wife's remote starter that she wanted for Christmas. Dead, it turns the light on, fuel pump builds pressure then nothing. They can just about remove it and I'll go someplace else.

The F250 goes up on jack stands when I get back from taking the trash Wed.
New rotors and pads, rubber brake lines to the calipers, booster, tie rod ends,
and ball joints (if needed). Then drain, flush, and refill cooling system. Maybe the new downpipe if I am up to it. That leaves the new body mounts but I think I'll let someone else do them. Better make sure I have plenty of Aleve on hand....

And it's 4x4 so the front hubs have to come off for the rotors...
So if I am that far in, might as well do the ball joints if needed.

May have to get Willie out here for some help...
A double order of Tipton's dry rubbed beef brisket served by that cute blonde waitress he likes may do the trick...

Yup if your that far into it, ball joints wouldn't be a bad idea. Good time to pack the bearings and new seals for that inside wheel bearing too. I always replaced that seal rather than re use the old. Three nuts and cotter pins later and you have that spindle off for ball joints once the rotor is off.

Well, my merc finally gave up the ghost of the aluminum thread insert for one of the spark plugs...as I was pulling into work almost an hour from home...Yayyyyy. Hoping a buddy of mine can knock out the repair pretty cheap, but we will soon find out.

From the sound of it most of us and our vehicles need some kind of repair.

Gas was 1.98 down east this weekend. My wallet is loving that.

Saw a lot of ducks on Saturday and had a large group turn and start to come in but we couldn't get any close enough to bring home. Still had a great time. Only a few more weekends for ducks.

Urban archery is in right now. Problem is I still haven't been seeing any deer. Most all my friends have also had slow to poor seasons. There's talk about wasting's diseased being pretty rampant especially through the Piedmont.

Yall have a good week.

Yeah most of my friends and family didn't see many deer this year either. I think it's a combination of several natural population control efforts from Good Ol' mother nature. Fruit and nut trees had slow harvests this year (at least the ones allowed to produce naturally), and there wasn't a real great harvest last year either. These things combined with the excess in population from the boon harvests a couple years ago means not enough food to support the large population, along with increased disease from large population, equaling a shard drop off in population. Next year should be a lower population of deer as well, but if next year's fruit/nut harvests are bountiful then say in 2016 or 2017 there should be a large deer population again.

What's up everybody
I'm doing pretty good, off of the pain pills since Saturday night, and things have quit spinning around on me, but truthfully I do like a good buzz. With the weather being decent this week I'm hoping to get my truck washed. Man I do not like a dirty daily driver, and mine is dirtier than I like.
Matt I'm wondering if there is something like a Helicoil that would get your car back on the road. I do know there are several way's to rethread those threads for the spark plugs. Hopefully you can get it done without breaking the bank.

I'm actually seeing that there is. Luckily I have pretty much free reign on the internet at this site. I have found a couple kits and a couple of folks packing the taps with grease to manage doing the repair without taking the head off. With this knowledge I am sure my buddy can make it happen, so I may still just get him to do so so I can still go to work while my car is out (and not have to skip a paycheck while trying to fix it). I need my heater coil replaced too so I may just get him to dig into that while he's at it, and get it inspected. lol We will see what he says when I call him around lunch.

That heater core is one of my least jobs to do. I did one a couple of years ago for a friends 99 F150. Not a fan of pulling dashboards out. Having to go all the way to the firewall.
