Remote Start Climate Control (HELP)

I have searched but I have not found any answers so I will ask a question. I know what it says in the owners manual about remote start climate control. Here is my issue and I am not the only one that has had this. I just bought a 2014 F250 Platinum Diesel with FACTORY remote start. When I go into my message center options Setting>Vehicle>Remote Start I only have two options. One is duration and the other is System. I do not have all those other options for climate control, heated seats, ect ect. Do I need to go to the dealer to have them reflash this or am I missing something on the 2014 Platinum model.

This is from the 2015 Owner's manual. The page numbers might be different in the 2014 manual.....the AUTO button is in the below the center switch used to select the locations of the air exiting the ac/heater unit. The center button selects Defrost, Vents or Floor or combo. Look below it for the AUTO button. It is NOT in the Message Center...

Page 111 of 2015 SuperDuty Owner's Manual

REMOTE START (If Equipped)
The remote start feature allows you to pre-condition the interior of your vehicle. The climate control system works to achieve comfort according to your previous settings.

Note: You cannot adjust the system during remote start operation.

Turn the ignition on to return the system to its previous settings. You can now make adjustments normally, but you need to turn certain vehicle-dependent features back on, such as:

• Heated seats.
• Cooled seats.
• Heated steering wheel.
• Heated mirrors.
• Heated rear window.

You can adjust the default remote start settings using the information display controls. See Information Displays (page 83).

Automatic Settings

In hot weather, the system is set to 72°F(22°C). The cooled seats are set to high (if available, and selected to AUTO in the information display).

In moderate weather, the system either heats or cools (based on previous
settings). The rear defroster, heated mirrors and heated seats do not
automatically turn on.

In cold weather, the system is set to 72°F (22°C). The heated seats are set to high (if available, and selected to AUTO in the information display). The rear defroster and heated mirrors automatically turn on.

see page 106 of 2015 owner's manual for location of AUTO button.

From Diesel Supplement Manual

The optional rapid heat feature is an electrically powered device that provides supplemental heat during engine warm up. During initial warm up, you should use a mid to low blower speed for maximum effectiveness. When operating in automatic mode (when equipped) the climate control unit determines the appropriate blower speed for existing conditions.

Hope this helps....

So does your manual say you can adjust all those settings in the message centre? I have a 2011 and I cannot set anything more than the timer.

Once the engine reaches a certain temperature, the fan blows defrost and if it's cold enough, the heated seats come on.

Yes you are SUPPOSED to make those changes in the message center not in the dual climate control area of your truck. There is numerous options you can select in the Remote Start area of the message center.

I have a 2011, can't do it. OP has a 2014 and can't do it. My manual and the 2015 manual doesn't show you can do it. Is there something I'm missing? There are no options to make any other changes to the remote start options on my screen.

There are only TWO options for the Remote Start that you can change and NONE have anything to do with Climate control. Read your owner's manual or the excerpt i posted above. You are misreading the information.

The TWO settings you can change for Remote Start are 1) On or Off and 2) the duration, 5, 10 or 15 minutes.

Go reread your owner manual

would be nice if it were that simple and yes, for the price paid, you would think be more bells and whistles....

just like you would think that the Nav would allow you to input parameters about your towed trailer...height, width, weight, length....but nope...not to be found. and Ford wants these truck to be the best in class towing
