Remote start climate control?
I read the owners manual but can't seem to get my heated seats to come on when I use the remote start. Is this possible?
Does anybody have a climate control 101 for me?
I assume the supplemental heater comes on behind the scenes. Is there a temperature differential between the climate setting and the outside temperature? If so what is the delta? If it's 40 degrees outside and my climate is set at 60 degrees...will the supplemental heater come on?
How about the rear window defroster and heated seats, can I make them come on when remote started?
Same question for the seat cooling...in a few months.
Thanks a bunch!
Karen
My truck is a 2012 Ultimate Lariat 6.7L
Oh well...would have been nice to start out with a warm tushy
why sit on ice cold leather and then warm it up when all the hardware is in place to pre-warm or pre cool. Not complaining here, I love my heated seats and my remote start just wish they would have played nice with each other. haaa
For hot weather conditions:
• The interior cabin will be cooled to 72°F (22°C).
• The cooled seats (if equipped) will be set to high.
For cold weather conditions:
• The interior cabin will be heated to 72°F (22°C).
• The heated seats (if equipped) will be set to high.
• Rear defrost/heated mirrors (if equipped) will be activated.
For moderate weather conditions:
• The interior cabin will be heated, cooled, or off, based upon the
previous operating state (last ignition-on cycle).
• Heated/cooled seats (if equipped) will be deactivated.
• Rear defrost/heated mirrors (if equipped) will be deactivated.
This same information is in the 2012 manual as well.

Remote Start Climate Operation
Under this section it says the cabin air will be adjusted but does not mention the seats. It goes further to say that the system will not recognize any climate control settings until the ignition is cycled on. At that point the climate will adjust to the previous settings but the seats will be turned off regardless if the truck was shutoff with them on.

Automatic Climate Control
There is also a section between remote start and automatic climate that is titled
Manual climate control
hmmmmm
still confusing to me. I tried different settings but my seats are still cold after a 15 minute remote start. It's not a big deal, the seats heat up pretty quick once you hit the button...but on single digit days it takes awhile to build the heat and warm my cheeks
Not sure if they're supposed to come on under remote start. Like you suggested Karen, the manual is a little ambiguous.
I think the Automatic Climate section is after the key (ignition) is cycled on.
