I'd be happy if we can get the booster on and have it working without other parts. However, I figured once I get it there and we get it all done, if something ends up failing, I can pick up whatever part I need to fix it. If I can drive and stop after 2 hours, that would be just peachy
Thanks Bently, we will see how it goes. I shouldn't need a tow but I'm glad the offer is there.
Ya, only thing that concerns me with you using a mystery booster is the possibility of Metric threads for the fittings. That may also be the case for the MC but those fittings are easy to get and I have a double flare tool.
Sounds like Aaron will make it, he's supposed to pop on the thread but he's been busy with 2 jobs and they moved.
This guy I talked to on a bronco Facebook page I'm on does a lot of hydroboost work and said they are all pretty much the same, its the mounting that differs. I don't know for sure since I have no experience in that department. However, the Saginaw is a GM pump, that should be fine. The steering box, I don't know.
Do we want to go for seconds? Pie should yummy I can tell you that.
I am all for it if anyone wants to come along.
Sean
I knew it was the 17th, I just assumed (like an idiot) that the 17th was a Saturday.
I have been having a hard time and so couldn't put any time into participating this month, don't think I just stopped being interested. I did manage to get the entire front end apart despite all of the rusted fasteners and I will be mocking up the motor mounts this week. Anyone have about 20" of 6" channel iron?
An old high school buddy of mine came down from Seattle this weekend, I sold him the Nissan and he is driving it up to Seattle tomorrow. Odd Ford Junkie, he is willing to drop off that 390 at your house on the way, I'll give you a call about 10am tomorrow and let me know if you will be there in the afternoon. I know it is short notice, I just thought of it an hour ago. Do you have a way to unload it?
Still on the search for a suitable workshop/storage to put my trucks and tools in. Anyone know of anything available for under $500- that runs about 1000 sq ft? Don't need power or water, but I do need a large door so my 2ton can get inside. By herself, she needs 9'X24' but she is only 7' tall.
I'll get to reading the rest of the posts on the thread so I can avoid missing the next meeting. See all you guys soon!
Thanks for the invite John, I may stop in next weekend. Not sure I can, but I still need to bring by the big blue oval for your wall.
I think I will be able to make it on the 20th, maybe late in the day (like dusk). The traffic out of Portland into Washington just sucks and if I don't get out of work before 3pm, just getting back to Washington takes forever and a week. I'm relying on my Kawasaki for transportation right now, sold the Nissan and the Crown Vic now has expired tags and I don't want to pay for new tags because it is being sold too. Anyone have a line on a 3.8 with all the brain trimmings? I have a 1995 2.3 in excellent shape with all the brain trimmings to trade, need the 3.8 (or a decent 302) for the Courier. I'll also be needing an auto tranny for whichever motor. And last, does anyone know a good 4X4 shop that can make a drive shaft for me?
Picked up a 5 gallon bucket and a 10 ft lengths of 3/8" and 1/2" I.D. vinyl tubings each on Monday. Today I picked up the trans filter and fuel filter at Horizon Parts Guy. I know Sean wasn't impressed with them but they have saved me a good bit.
Horizonpartsguy.com is Horizon truck centers website. They have discounted prices via website. Similar prices to rockauto and others. If you give them a call with what you need they can give exact part numbers and then just will call it.
If your going to have the part shipped then you may as well get a better price
on the same part. Give Ed a call at FICMRepair.com - FORD Powerstroke 6.0 FICM Repair, PHP Tuning and Truck Parts
They happen to be a supporter and have some nice people to work with.
Also you won't have to deal with the *** I did last time I talked to the people
at Horizon Ford aka Partsguy.com I was not happy at all with them.
BTW the guy that started that up in the first place retired and someone
else took it over.
Well I got another year older last Saturday. Funny, I feel the same as I did on Friday.
So the big job change is now in the works, and I am putting everything in a storage temporarily. I have to be in Salt Lake City a week from today to do the training for the new job, I'll be gone for three weeks. I will see if I can get that 390 up to Sheldon before then, not sure because I have a whole lot of stuff to move. It also looks like I will miss the meet on the 20th.
Picking up fluid Friday at wally world. Probably have to hit more than one for MerconV.
Oddford- Do you have flare wrenches? I may slide under the truck and figure out the cooler line orientation this week and see what size is required. I have a set of metric flare wrenches but not sure if large enough.
