A couple of weeks ago I found a good deal on eBay for the limited function APCM. I didn't get a harness with it but was able to make my own. I've checked everything and I have key power, ground, B+, and B- but for some reason whenever I go to enter a mode the light next to it flashes 3 times and then it bounces back and forth between the two mode buttons 3 times then flashes both 2 times. The power button stays solid the whole time. Only way out of this is to power it down. And I never achieve high idle or charge protect.

I can still talk to the computer through the DLC so I know the data bus is still functional.
And yes, all conditions are met... Parking brake (light working, truck in park, and feet off pedals.
I've never seen one without the rpm display. Nor do I know the codes. Does your truck have a chip in it. I notice now that my chip is in my factory aux idle is not working
Sorry it took so long for me to respond. It is not chipped but is running an EDGE tune. Might be causing the problem but seems rather unlikely. And I have gone over the APCM manual several times and it all checks out. One thing I have found is after doing a KOEO self test I throw a ROM error code. I may need a PCM... Could be causing the problem. Truck runs great though. And the one without the RPM display was only put in ambulances but supposedly works on everything. Its simple and is just meant to be set up and then thrown under a seat. (My plan was just to run charge protect).
I have an edge tune in my truck and my aux idle control gizmo works fine. Except for the time I screwed up the prgramming. The manual for it is not that clear, or to me at least.

Yeah it has all of the information I don't need and none of what I do.
I've read this a few times now and haven't found anything relevant. It's meant for the full function module and none of the examples in the troubleshooting guide fit my issue. I can't find anything with my constant flashing light problem.
