My issue can be while driving with cruise on, or accelerating, the truck just losses power, then recovers. at idle, the rpm can, but not always, fluctuate.
There is no "mis fire" when it happens, but it just falls on its face. I have NO diagnostic tools, and my injectors are not stock, so I am unable to unplug my DP.
My thoughts are to unplug the ICP and give that a shot? Meanwhile, I will put in a order for a elm327
Does it throw a CEL light when this event happens? If it does, a diagnostic app of some sort would be the best bet. It could be a bad chip connection, a bad cps, or any list of things.
Really could be a variety of things. Without a scan tool it can be difficult to diagnose.
I would look into possible IPR/ICP problems or accelerator pedal issues. However, it really is a shot in the dark without a scan tool.
BTW, you can disconnect the chip from the truck and drive it even with single shots. The truck will just run rough at idle. If you are wanting to do this to rule out the chip causing the issue.
I unplugged the ICP, ran slightly rough at idle once warmed up, but still had the Drag, or loss if you will. The default would have let me slide, correct?
With out the chip, is it drivable, or are you suggesting this for the purpose of scanning?
He is suggesting only remove the chip to isolate that as the faulty part on your truck. Without a scan tool of some sort (TorquePro, Forscan, etc) you are looking to replace parts until you find the problem. This is an expensive option and is only guessing at what the cause is.
I also have TorquePro. Others have had great success with TP, but my experience was not the same. I have Forscan installed on a netbook, but have not had the chance to use it yet.
I am unable to connect to my truck for anything other then MAP and speed. May have something to do with the DP? Might just have to give Justin a call later
Fuel pressure? I know you're done the Hutch and Harpoon mod, a few times if I remember correctly!
Sometimes it's the simple stuff. Is the oil full? Fuel filter? I know when it comes to my trucks, I sometimes draw a blank when issues come up, and will overlook the obvious many times!

Yeah, I have been in the tank a few times, that's for sure lol.
No, I don't believe fuel pressure, there is non of the Knock, and I am not seeing the higher EGTs, so I don't feel that is it, but who knows.
so, icp I should be able to unplug, it would go to default, so there would have been no issues, IPR? Sorry, is this the one with the tin nut located on the back of the highpresure oil pump?? There is No disconnecting there is there?
Unplugging the DP, would be fine for base test, however driving I would be dead in the water, correct?
I'll second the fuel pressure guess. It doesn't always knock or spike the EGT's, but losing power is common. That rubber pick up foot can come apart and plug the fuel pick up line enough to make the truck stall without causing a knock.
Yes unplugging the ICP is ok, No, unplugging the IPR is not. Don't remember what injectors you have. If just single shots, you can run it just fine. It will idle like 60's chevy with a race cam to the point that it's embarrassing at a stop light, but will drive decent.
