Cool. I got a lot of information and a much better idea of what I need. I'm almost ready to get her running. Nevertheless, we should get together as soon as she's running.

Absolutely, I'm working at getting 4.11s and a limited slip in mine. That will make it even better.

A body lift is the easiest and cheapest way to lift a 2wd truck. You can go from 1" to 3" and you do not affect the suspension geometry at all. Buy a really good set of shocks and go have fun.

My biggest beef with a body lift is that it doesn't create any more frame-ground clearance and it doesn't correct the nose down "rake" that these trucks have.

^ your right they don't create any more ground clearance besides the body. I don't like them due to the gap it leaves between the frame and body usually can tell by looking in at the rear wheel wells on the bed also the gap left from the front and rear bumpers unless you make custom bumper lift brackets. Not the safest either in accidents they may break and your body becomes unattached from the frame. I think a link suspension would be killer on a 2wd with coil overs in the front can anyone say desert pre runner????

I think loco decided on bigger tires and a limited slip/ locker to suit his needs.

A body lift is extremely difficult on one of these trucks as the frame mounted steering box is right at the base of the column. Besides, the only thing a body lift is good for is getting the body off the frame in a minor accident. Seen a few of those types of trucks in the junkyard.
