Rode in my friends Deleted and tuned.
A friend bought a 2008 like mine with 125k miles on it. We removed the EGR and coolers and DPF last weekend. He tuned with an SCT tuner and took me for a ride yesterday..wholly crap what a difference compared to stock. I will see how his does for a while before I tear into mine. I have an edge evolution I use for gauges. Im temped to tune even though I still have my emissions stuff but I just bought an extended warranty so I'm torn. I know the edge will not feel like a deleted truck but these trucks can really move tuned...I am impressed.

Rip that crap off of there! Unleash the beast!!
Im running a H&S Minimaxx with all the hippie parts deleted. And my god, it still makes me smile and i drive the thing everyday.
On the real though, how much good can a DPF-on tune do? Ive never even heard of such a thing.. Not that thats saying much though..
These things any good?

I had actually ordered a banks six gun with IQ but they were on a 45 day back order so I decided to go with H&S. Been very pleased. Worked out well because I ended up changing careers and now do a lot of city driving. Eliminating the DPF was the best thing I could do.

The Banks "DPF on" tunes do help.
I am using the Banks IQ with the Automind..it has the "clean tunes" similar to the six gun and they do decrease the regens and improve MPG a bit...I have since deleted the exhaust plug with the GearboxZ DPFr 4.0 and stack the Automind. I get very little black smoke driving around. Plus!..the power and torque are impressive, at least for me. I pulled my fiver up a 6% grade the other day at 75mph, passing cars with ease. Only hit ~1000 deg max EGT and 70% engine load. That was with the Banks Tow tune and CAI option setting. Before deleting, I would have maybe made 70 mph up that grade but would have had 1300 deg EGT. And if it decided to kick in a regen in the middle of the grade, forget it..It woulda stumbled and slowed to 65 or less.
