edge cs tuner?

Hey guys....i have about 8k miles before my 60k warranty is up on my 08 f350... so im planning on a tuner and dpf delete after it expires...thinking of the sct livewire or the h&s xrt pro...leaning towards the sct because a local diesel shop who installs the livewires also does state inspections and says he can get the truck to pass with the tuner and dpf delete pipe still on the truck......all that being said...a friend of a friend is selling an edge evolution cs for cheap money...didnt know if its worth buying or should i stay away from it since edge got out of the diesel/dpf removal game?....any input is much appreciated ....thanks!

First thing first, make sure it is a racing evolution, that's the one that will work with the DPF removed. I've not had one of the others but I can only assume that they do not support DPF removal. That's also the model they quit making. I have the older model but I used it for a couple months with the DPF on and it was a good monitor. About 8000 miles ago I removed the DPF and reset the Edge to DPF off. It's been going ever since without any problems. I run on step 1 (35HP) the tech at Edge told me to use step 2 (50HP) to tow. Tried it once and didn't notice much difference, maybe a little stouter on the hills. I'm towing right at the CGWR and don't like to get too far from stock settings. The Edge, which I bought used has been flawless. It allowed me to delete the DPF and when that is done it feels and drives like a different truck. I'm very happy I made the choice and the $1000 I saved by not buying a Spartan put a new set of tires on the truck. Good luck with your choice.

IMO EDGE is way behind the pack, maybe there OK a good moniter or with slight over stock tunes as Stanley is running his setup seems to work well for him, I really dont know much about the newer EDGE racing tuners but IMO they have never had good power tunes mainly cause they don't tune the trans with the engine tuning. Most power-stroke users i know have had countless trans issues running edge power tunes or edge products in general mabey they have changed but i realt dont see many people talking about them.......now if you had a duramax id say you probably have a good chance at being happy, Edge products have always seemed to cater more to the duramax guy's IMO! take it for what its worth.

Friday I'm scheduled for a SCT tuner and DPF delete. I'll let you know the results.
