The glass is embedded in a layer of glass tape in that channel. Glass shops have a special tool to pull the glass out of the channel. If you can't afford to break the glass (date coded originals that you want to save) you might want to take it to the pros. And if they break it they would typically be expected to replace it for free.
However, I did get one of mine out by heating the frame and glass slowly with a heat gun (hair dryer probably not hot enough) and once the tape softened to a point I was able to pull it out of the frame but I had to use some heat resistant gloves as it was burning hot by then.
If you go to this link and scroll down a few screens there is a drawing of a tool in use like I'm referring to that glass shops typically have. Fairly common tool and not all that expensive but if you only use it once or twice might not be worth the investment.
Gary, Might I ask where you found the left vent window frame? the framed window is fine but it is loose and won't stay in one position,i don't see how to adjust it. Thanks Bob
I ordered the new one from LMC Truck, (part & accessories magazine), however if your wing window is just loose you should be able to tighten it up. There is an adjustment nut inside the door, it hard to get to it but it's ajustable if it's not broken.
