I have a old vent window without a latch and good glass. I bought another vent window (original) with a good frame and latch. The Glass in the good frame is scratched in one area (2" x 3").
Is there a good trick to remove the glass (50 year old) from each frame or soften the rubber bedding, for a normal person without doing damage to the good frame, to replace this glass?
Or should I put a decal on my vent window and forget it.. My car is not a showpiece, but I have it all apart now and --This is the time - if ever.

The glass is retained to the vent frame with "glass tape" available from any auto glass shop.
I just replaced my frames this weekend. I ended up using a razor knife along the glass. Took many, many, did I say many passes. Now I did still destroy the frames as I was replacing them, they were rotten in the corner.
