I have 4 codes that have went off on my 2007 6.0 Powerstroke and really do not know where to start. The codes seem to be related and I believe that the EP Sensor is plugged/faulty and this may be causing the other codes to be activated. The codes are as follows:
P0480--Cooling Fan circuit not responding or faulty fan relay
P0470--ECM has detected a signal error from the EP Sensor or faulty EP Sensor
Now in regards to these two codes that are listed, I am frightened that I have a fuel injector out on Cylinder 5 and that my FICM needs to be reflashed/replaced.
P0611--ECM has not received a signal from the fuel injector interface module
P0273--Cylinder 5 injector circuit low. ECM has detected a fault in the fuel injection circuit
Can someone lead me in the right direction as to where to start diagnosing, so I am not running circles. The truck runs fine and doesn't act as if an injector is missing, however it can be low on power sometimes.
So in your opinion then I regards to the FICM I do believe it is the 4 pin model and I will test it with my volt meter. However, I was told by a ford tech that I could jus replace half of the FICM and now have to have any computer programming done. Now with that being said I guess I am questioning whether or not to replace the whole FICM or if I would be ok with just replacing the 1/2 part of it.
Now in regards to the EP sensor. Should I go on ahead and install my EGR delete kit and 4" exhaust? Then if I make these modifications will it eliminate that EP sensor then I won't have to worry about it or would that be a waste of money?
Finally I will diagnose the wiring harness to the fan clutch and the fan relay to eliminate that problem. However, I have a feeling that code is being set off due to the EP sensor failure. Any thoughts?
The EBP sensor is used my the 07 PCM, it's possible the sensor and tube are gummed, but I suspect it's electrical.
For any FICM related issues I recommend FICM Repair.com - Your Source for FICM Repair as replacing with a Ford half-shell, or even a power supply from Dorman would be considered temporary, at best.
If you send the FICM on into us, we could also review the health of the logic board instead of just being stuck assuming that 100% of the modules' issue is related to the amplifier side. We could also of course pop in an aftermarket tune on your module to give you a reason to stop lusting after the 6.7's...

How do you and mark know when something is posted related to your expertise. It is scary! Have you guys teamed up with google?
Its very odd but I have seen a bad ficm set ebp codes. Start with ficm diag then clear codes, retest.
You may still have more then one issue, the fan or connector is suspect as a second issue.
