OK--lets ignore the P0278 for a minute and deal with the rest. P0267 and 73 are indicitave of a failing FICM which could also cause the P0278. Check the tech folder for the FICM voltage testing procedure but also be prepared to replace an injector AFTER you get the FICM straightened out.
P0334 and 41 could be caused by a stall event but they ALL are circuit codes. Since you have an 04, which are notorious for bad wiring harnesses I'd start by checking the harness. Also check the fan plug wiring at the fan shroud (just under the upper radiator hose) for cut wires.
Check the 6.0 forum tech folder for the FICM testing procedure. The voltage should be > 45 at all times--before and during cranking. This is probably a lot of your driveability issue and should be taken care of before the P0278 injector code. Also, just because the voltage tests good doesn't mean that your FICM is good. Have your electrical system tested as this can also cause FICM issues.
If it's starting then the cam and crank sensor codes are probably from a "stall" event and should be ignored. P0603 can be ignored also.
The P0528 code is most likely fan wiring or at least a good place to start looking.
Just got done testing the FICM. I have the seven pin and tested the farthest passenger pin in the row of four. 48.5volts key on....24.6volts running. Pretty safe to say it's shot from what i read in the tech folder. Can the old 7 pin FICM be replaced with the newer 4 pin if i find a used one? should i return programmer back to stock before replacement for any "relearn" procedures or do a battery unplug to completely reset everything? Thank you so much for helping me find this problem!!!!!!
You can use any FICM and you don't have to do a relearn or return to stock to change it, but disconnecting the batteries is always a good thing when messing with electronics.
Is the repair for the seven pin the same as the four pin? The repair in the tech folder is for the four pin and i wanna try it. so, she's not quite off her death bed yet.
So I went ahead and pulled the FICM and did the resoldier on the 16 spots on the back of the board. Didn't do the two resistor areas as in picture 5 because theyt weren't there. Must be one of the differences between the seven pin and the four pin. Got 35 volts out her and runs a little better than before. still not great though. gonna shop around this week for new one i guess
Send 5030tinkerer a PM and talk to him about the repair. His prices are very reasonable.
I will second this whole heartedly. If you can do without your truck for a very few days it's well worth the few $$ that it's going to cost you to fix it vs. getting a new one. Ed (5030tinkerer) knows his stuff. FICM Repair.com - Your Source for FICM Repair
