An aftermarket kit such as the dieselsite kit (I originally had one of those installed).

And swapping your water pump for an IH water pump which has a place for a filter to mount on it directly.

There are plenty of pics and links in here.
The IH water pump swap is a tad more work, but if your water pump is on its way out you might as well IMHO.

Corey, after reading this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ng-system.html
You will probably realize the benefit to having a coolant filter.
Maintaining SCA isn't the only concern. All 7.3 blocks were cast with sand and there is some in your engine circulating.
I will have to get a picture of the blades of the water pump I just removed to get you an idea of what this sand can do. I maintained my SCA levels as well.
Who's to say that if you followed the manual recommended flush schedule and maintained SCA perfectly that you won't have any issue, but I am not the original owner of my truck and I would much rather spend $100 on an aftermarket kit with $10 filter changes than to replace an engine block/main bearings etc
Just my .02

Corey, when I bought my dually, I got lucky to get it from a guy that did all the maintenance on it. I got most of the paper work with the truck. As soon as I got it, I tore it down and did all my mods at once and the IH water pump with filter was one of the mods. I ran this filter for about 5K, convinced me it was necessary.
Edit: second filter looked a lot better!
