I won't have any real results until later this summer on the Econo tune but the reason I chose that one was because my trailer gross weight is 10k and I'm pretty much stock except for the suspension upgrades. If you have any questions send Ed a pm or call him, he answered all my questions and his customer service is second to none.
It would be curious to see if your FICM voltage recovers as soon as your battery voltage pops back up following your glow plugs shutting off (following that load going away). I bet it would, but the stress damage has been done. Sadly, it's time to replace parts on the module.
I just had a very similar situation, my alternator died, and my FICM is putting out similar voltage cold and then jumps back up to 47. With my new alternator the voltage is 12.8 when the glow plugs are on, but the FICM still reads 43 or so. Same as when the voltage was 11.9.

That's a terrible deal. I just got a 250A Powermax alternator on ebay for $170. Brand new, not remanufactured. The reman stock alternators are only around $100. With a warranty.

I really didn't do any shopping around, I just knew I wasn't going to pay 300+ For a DC unit, along with having the FICM repaired... That will come later. BTW, I bought the 140A not the 110A, Auto Nation doesn't list a price for the 140A, but the 120A alt is 215.00.
I'm not too concerned about it being a reman unit if it has a two year warrant. Here is where real the difference is; my alternator goes out, I drive 2 miles to from work to the Ford warehouse and have it replaced in an hour. I've experienced ebay, you may be joining the long list of people who can't get a response from the seller, or at minimum have to wait several days for one to ship. Who got the better deal at that point?

That is a ridiculous statement. Lots of people get great service on ebay. I do all the time. My alternator arrived in 3 days and it works great.
Any seller, be it a website, a Ford dealer, or ebay, can have delays from time to time.

Just curious....have you verified the amperage output at idle, 1000 and 2000 rpms with an ammeter?

Your FICM is sadly game over. Let us know if we can help you out! We can even ship out a replacement ahead of time to avoid the 'three days'.
You are absolutely correct! 3 days is much better than a couple of hours...
It is when I got a way better alternator and I paid less for it. And I wasn't in a hurry. 3 days is quick for anybody that has to ship a part. Don't act like the Ford dealer keeps everything in stock. It would take them at least 2 days to order an alternator if they don't happen to have it sitting on a shelf. You act like you can't afford a high output alternator, I'm not sure why you would choose the most expensive option for the low output stocker...

Not yet, but I will. I'm installing a combination amp/voltmeter. I was told it should make full amperage above 1200 RPM, and approximately half at idle. It came with a smaller "overdrive" pulley than the stock alternator. It's been holding at 13.8-14v at idle.
