My original metal fuel lines were getting bad so last year as a "quick fix" I replaced all the metal line with new rubber fuel line. But now more for safety I would like to install new stainless steel fuel lines. Where is the best place to purchase lines for a 1979 F150? Also can the lines be replaced with new metal lines without removing body parts?? I remember I had to cut part of the line under the bed to get the old out, would like to hear from some of you who have replaced your lines! Thanks for any info you can give! By the way the truck is 4 wheel drive if that makes a difference.
Inline Tube would be a place to start as they have both metal and stainless lines. If you can get under truck you should be able to install them. May be some cursing involved or a junction somewhere. It's always easier with the body off but that doesn't sound practical in your situation. Good luck.
I replaced all the lines on my '73 F100 with stainless steel lines from Inline Tube.
I had the body and bed off, but as I remember, the steering box needed to be off so the lines could go behind it.
I just check the pictures, yeah, the box needs to be out of the way, the lines go between it and the frame. This is on a 2WD, 4WD would be different. http://www.inlinetube.com/
