Hey Shaun. Saw this and thought you would like it.
If you were an able body man not serving in the army during one 10 hour shift you were expected to make one of the following.
1500 musket ball cartridges
1500 round ball cartridges
1000 buck and ball cartridge
500 shotgun cartridges
3000 machine made cartridges
1000 .58 cal Enfield cartridge
400 army pistol cartridges
400 navy pistol cartridge
600 paper pistol cases
1000 powered cylinders
Crimp 5000 cartridges closed
Bundle 5000 cartridges
Pack 50 boxes of cartridges
Lube 2000 Enfield cartridges
Lube 1800 machine made cartridges
Make 3000 percussion cap cylinder
Lable and varnish 100 boxes of cartridges
Swage 7000 *****
Fill 10000 cartridges with powder.

Well, the mechanical advance was still working at least, but you either had to gun it or it'd almost stall.
Found some pictures of a fire we responded to 5 or 6 weeks ago at a scrap metal recycling place down the road from the station. Pretty intense. 8 hour call, but I had to go to work after about 2 1/2 hours
I'm building the department a new website, so I'm hoping I'll be able to get permission to take pictures on scene.

This place catches on fire regularly. There was a massive fire there back in October. You'd think they'd put in a hydrant, but noooo; we have to drive a mile to get water and just rotate tankers and engines in to supply water 
Just got back from another call. That makes 3 in a row in the last 4 days. Just a car accident this time.
I'm firefighter 55 on Company 15, so when I radio dispatch to respond to the tone, it's "fiteen fitty fiive in route to the station"
