Picked up my truck last week. Runs great, fires right up every time. Bought Scangauge II yesterday to keep an eye on temps and other things. This morning outside temp was 65* and ECT was 186* and EOT was 216*. I'm assuming this would be a clogged oil cooler, or is there a T-stat problem?
2004 F250 112K miles. 4" lift w/35's other than that completely stock. It was a one owner truck and the owner had everything done at stealership including oil changes.
Your t-stat is a little on the cool side but not enough to mess up your temp. spred. If those temps were talen on flat ground cruising between 60 and 65 mph then I'd say you need an oil cooler asap since your at a 30 degree spred.
The deltas don't really mean anything until you're fully warmed up and cruising at highway speeds on level ground. Mine are all over the place, too, until I get on the highway -- then they stick usually with 5-8 degrees of each other.
I wouldn't worry about it at all unless you see this behavior on the highway.
Personally I wouldnt drive it at all until a flush and oil cooler change so that nothing else gets messed up--but thats just me I'd probably do an egr delete as well (just the cooler)
EGR is still functional as far as I know. I don't want to tempt fate, I'll get it looked at today hopefully. I'll keep a close eye on the temps and make sure they don't get too high.
