I just wanted to share that you should check your spare tires, I've been just banging on it to see if it was still full. Apparently my hand isn't an accurate pressure gauge I pulled it out today to have a good look at it to decide if I wanted to replace it when I replace the other tires and checked the pressure it was 17 psi. Everyone should go out and check their spare because even if they seem full they may not be.
funny you post that. My drivers front broke a belt last night. I installed the spare this morning.
it was a little flat at 27.5 psi. Who knows how long that tire had been sitting under the cover. I carefully drove to a station and aired it up to 60 psi. Still looks a bit flat, but much better now
Pulled mine out before a roadtrip last August. It was down to 30. It looks to be virgin, a Pirrelli Scorpion. Stickers are still on the rim. And load range E tires have hefty sidewalls, you wont get much bounce it's low and unmounted.
I checked My wife's tire too it was low too. Such a simple thing to check but we forget about it. I find I check the spare in the Ex less often because it's inside. Anytime I've had a tire under the vehicle I always dropped it down in the spring and fall and checked the pressure and lubed it up. Inside seems so safe how could anything go wrong in there.

Same here. First time i checked it, it was around 20psi. Mine is also still new, it has never been installed. The tire is covered so no need to replace it!
Oh that! It's kind of like "outta site outta mind" guess I should check mine for the first time in 3 years. I do carry a little a cig lighter air pump with me though and they will work in a pinch.
I just took mine out all together. When I put the lift on I test fit the spare to see how big of a difference it would make with the different sizes and the rig was all over the place. I'll stick with AAA until I can fab up the drop down rear carrier.
I check it pretty frequently. Doesn't seem to lose air very quickly.
I needed it too when my drivers rear tire threw it's tread off in the middle of nowhere in the AZ desert couple weeks ago.

Not sure, haven't had issues w tires before. The UV might not help. The heat shouldn't matter if you keep them inflated properly. (which I always do)
On all my cars I've never had this happen. Tires wear normally, no blow outs, no tread separations. Even Michelin car tires have worked out great.
