Warped front rotors
Let me re-word that. They can crack. The holes are the weak point. A slotted rotor is stronger than a cross drilled one.
If you cut a slot .187 wide in a rotor, to qualify as a slot it has to be longer than it is wider so you would lose even more cross section with one that has 10 slots spaced at 36 degrees than you would by drilling 15 holes in it. Slots are weaker because you remove more metal, holes that are properly chamfered will not be prime source of crack. Proven point many times over.
I do prefer slotted holes in mine. My last Mustang received them, did SCCA slalom racing with it. I do rotors for a performance company here in Lexington even though he can buy them off the shelf cheaper. Guess he likes my patterns!
