You can drill and instal hilti wedge anchors, and tie rebar to them. Use a bonding agent between them, but you still have a patch.
been there, done that
our garage floor here in the bay we want the lift has a 10" depth, with 1/2" tied rebar basket.
The concrete has fiberglass filling for bond, Pos for the additive in a 10 bag mix.
When drilling to put the wall up, I had a dozen bits burn up to install 5 anchors.
There are no cracks in the floor, and the concrete was poured 25 years ago
Hi Charlie, that pad has been there at least 15 yrs that I know of. I agree that it would have been better to do some excavating. It's sort of a pain and you have to be careful when you have to step up to work on a vehicle. It's ramped around it but, still a pain.
Charlie, OT, have you ever extended trailer axles. Looking for different axles for car trailer. And, being frugal, can't afford to buy new and wheels and tires. Found some used ones but a little too short. I have "stretched" my small trailer axle but not sure if I should try it on the car trailer.
Off to go look at one now.
Be very careful with streaching axles. If you look down the axle, there is a pre-load on the axle, and it is not straight.
If you alter it, do that near where the axle and suspension come together, and NOT in the middle
I would use a solid rod inside the patch.Use a A/C-D/C welder, no mig or tig here.
