When I had a 7.3, I never drained the water separator unless the WIF light came on. That thing would eat anything you wanted to feed it. On my 6.0, I drained it often because the injectors wouldn't tolerate low fuel pressure, so its very important to keep the filters clear. On this 6.7, the entire fuel system can be scrapped over water in the fuel, so it makes me feel good to check it from time to time. Plus, there is almost nothing else that needs to be done on this truck and I kind of like to get my hands dirty from time to time. Makes me feel like I did something. Plus I like to use the drained diesel to start up my fire pit.

Haha, I was wondering what you guys do with all that fuel you're draining out.

Anybody use an AirDog or FASS system and if so does it help with any water in the fuel issue?

They do filter it better but emulsified water will still find its way in.

Lol! I dont see the connection with what I said and what you said. You were complaining about a simple maint item ,I was just stating how mindless getting fuel used to be and how its changed. No connection

Anyways I will say there is a very fine line when draining where it will leak by oring on valve or will come out of drain.Like 1/8 turn more and it leaks. These 6.7 s are much easier to drain then my 7.3.You had to put a hose on drain tube to get it through the engine to the bottom and sooner or later the valve either broke or leaked by all the time and you had to rebuild it.This is simple on 6.7 to drain. All the room in the world under the truck to move.Get on a creeper,1 min later youre done.

I'm laughing my butt off right now. I was like "Rex is a girl? I never picked up on that." Being married for 21 years, I have been conditioned not to question the female intuition on these things. Then I was thinking it would be cool to see a girl driving that beast of a truck down the street.
It has been a crappy night for TV, so it was a welcome laugh when I read how this all played out. Thanks Karen! Who ever said 6.7 was a boring forum?

Just Kidding, after posting yesterday about "doing nails and hair", I guess I asked for that lol, I have been called worse, no worries roflmbo!! and... to be honest, I am not sure I was not dressed up in drag the last time I was drunk in Mexico

I am really happy to see a female in here, you rock out for getting in here to be a part of what is made up mostly of men. It was starting to smell like old gym socks in here hahahaha

There was a ole wise man used to say "Get in, where you fit in"

Calm down men, put ur $$$ back in your money clips, I am not going to dance on the midget stripper pole just yet!!
