I may be SOL with the help thing. From what little time I've been able to spend under my truck thus far, it seemed as though there is a pretty big cross-member that will either be in my way, or will keep it from dropping on my chest. I do have a large ATV jack that I can use as an extra pair of hands. Thanks for the heads-up.
Yeah I think for me it would have been a little bit harder removing the DPF with jacks, because just as mentioned I was able to get my legs underneath and I pulled it right out. Anybody know how much they weigh? Also Monday during lunch I should get my truck back. I received the injector today which included instructions which I'll post up here on Monday, and the injector is sitting at the dealership waiting for Monday.
I did get my truck back, but you won't believe it lol. I am leaking from the fuel return line that we couldn't tell because of the spray from the injector. Good part is the SMT who has been working on my truck is just gonna come to the house and help me install it so I don't get charged the 100 dollars of labor for something that takes ten minutes. I got the hose installed for both of the coolant lines so that's good. Runs great and sounds great just leaking some fuel. I should have the part Friday, once again thank you White Bear Lake for charging me 115 instead of 190 for the fuel return line. A little frustrating but I can see the end of the light! And the times that all I had to worry about was filling it with fuel, that I took for granted. Ha. I will wait to do the video just because I want everything to be done on it. Anyways here are some pictures of the injector that came from cylinder #3. Crazy how much carbon buildup is on he tip. Pretty gnarly break in the elbow huh?
For those who want to know the injector process for reprogramming. I couldn't film or watch, but found this video which is exactly the same.
Too bad it's not fully sorted yet, but at least you're getting closer. The pics are too small for me to see well on the computer, and I can't figure a way to zoom them. Do you have any full resolution to post? I'm beginning to think I should leave my EGR alone - although I did get a nice box from USPS today with "Sinister" on the side.
Honestly if I could do it again I would have just installed the block off plates until my warranty ran out. Hindsight is always 20/20 though. The coolant doesn't even bother me, just this fuel system. Good thing is that I'm learning how to do a bunch of work on my truck. I will be investing in a Ford IDS system though in the future. As said before long gone are the days of just swapping parts and calling it good. I will update more Friday when I get the part and we install it.
