Yeah 60 miles right? Crazyness, but I am glad I was able to found the hose and I will be done tearing my truck apart for the time being. I am gonna install the hose, and remove the entire DEF system including the filler tube!!!

I took my truck in for servicing and the Ford Dealer was trying to fill up the DEF tank and put DEF Fluid all over their bay floor, because I did what you are doing removing the DEF Filler tube. I did take out the DEF tank too. The Ford guys where like WHAT THE!!!!!! The dealer was I think you have a problem. I was like no I just took all the crap off of my truck. He was like ok.

I will be sure to take that out haha! I bet the tech was pretty annoyed that there was DEF all over the floor haha. How hard is it to take out?

The tube removal was pretty easy. The tank was easy too. The nice thing about our trucks are they up nice and high. I dropped the spare tire and undid the few bolts holding the tank in. Dropped it and then used electric tape to close off the open connectors, so no water or moisture screwed with the connectors.

Well I mix the Ford Gold Motorcraft stuff and start pouring it in and out the bottom it came! The rubber boot swelled like a balloon and popped, creating a hole and draining all the coolant in the process. I bought some neoprene gloves and quadruple wrapped it around the fitting and used two hose clamps for right now and it seems to be holding. I recommend and am going to get a rubber hose that goes from one end to the other end so the coolant just circulates. All in all it was a good and bad day. I am NEVER going to put the EGR cooler, DPF in my truck ever again. The Senior Master Tech at the dealership I go to is cool with the DPF delete and EGR delete, so both of those are going on Ebay as I will never sell the truck either. I did go about 120 miles and the lie o meter was reporting about 18-19 while I have been getting around 16-17 going the same route so that was sweet. I promise I will take a video tomorrow
What is the difference between "Specialty Orange" and "Gold" coolant? I used "Specialty Orange" whatever that means.

My EGR delete kit had a hose that went from the secondary loop radiator to the reservoir/degas bottle instead of caps.

And the bad news just keeps coming. I am now leaking fuel from the top of one of my injectors. I don't know why or how it happened I can only assume it was me when I pulled the egr and it hit it. There is a little blue tab looking thing on the end of the injector that is just shooting diesel everywhere. I have to go talk to the SMT at ford on Monday to see if there is anything I need to do with a brand new injector. The good part I guess is everyone is seeing where I "failed" and can learn from my mistakes. Also it is giving me a lot of hands on experience with my truck, but it's becoming very expensive. :/

Gold coolant is a no-no in the 6.7. The specialty orange is different technology.

DO NOT run the Motorcraft GOLD in this engine. It is the wrong stuff. All 6.7's use the specialty Orange. different technology.

Since it looks like you are going to drain again, you are going to have to flush it now too. I can't find all the reasons why, but here is one warning from a FORD document, although older, calls out both Gold and Specialty orange.

Thanks. So how do you check the concentration level of Specialty Orange then? My Hydrometer based unit shows inconclusive results.

There are two Rotunda test kits with strips. Here is a link to a 5 page thread on the topic with the test kit part numbers.

I checked the rubber caps this morning. There is what appears to be small cracks, but no splitting or leaks at this time.

I will be adding the hose in the spring to fix.

Spe upgraded their caps. Everyone who had the old style could get the new ones for free, the old ones were cracking. I have the newer ones, look pretty beefy.
