Truck down!

Well after reading all the horror stories of truck biting the dirt on here with the fuel systems I have became one of them. Bad tank of fuel and now truck is down for count. I have seen many stories of ford denying warrenty and people paying 19k to have them fixed. I have extended warrenty on the truck. I am opting for a local repair shop that has done this fix before. Was quoted 9k to fix it. All they work on is ford vehicles. Going to hope for the best.

Yes yes...questions...Do you believe the High Pressure Fuel pump exploded? why do u believe it was a bad tank of fuel? Have you contacted your insurance company if warranty was denied. Is there DEF in the fuel and how did it get there? Was your WIF light on before the engine died? Do you believe water was in the fuel? We all wonder these things and want to know. Sorry this happened to you. Some have been successful at getting insurance to cover some of the bill. If your repair shop does the work, what do they replace...rails, injectors, fuel lines, high p pump, low p pump

well I have not taken it to ford place , I am currently waiting on my insurance company to come out and take a look. As for as bad fuel I have drained the tank and the fuel was cloudy very cloudy and some water in bottom with brown stuff floating in it. I just can't see wasting time with ford place to just have the warranty denied, plus having to pay them to just look at it and tell me that. The local shop has done this work on other trucks so I assume they know what to change out. Not sure if the High pressure pump is damaged. The last time I started truck it made a knocking noise and got an engine code of P0284 of #8 cylinder inbalance. I reset the fault and started again no fault code so i shut it off and tried to start again and it never would.

Bad water is usually a complete fuel system replacement. HPFP/injectors/filters. Draining an clean/flushing all fuel lines.

Just curious. Was the last place you got fuel your normal fuel station or was it somewhere different?

If your ins comp denies claim are you going to ford? I certainly wouldnt flip the bill on 10k repair.I dont think its a across the board denial by ford on this.I know I would fight tooth and nail if it wasnt my fault.

I also took some of the fuel and heated it to see if it was water in it but was still cloudy when When it cooled off.

Get that receipt. You will want to notify the station of bad fuel as well. Insurance will probably want to speak with them.
