Ok went back and checked the fuel filter again and I could see metal particals down in the filter so pretty sure the high pressure pump is shot.

Yup...do not start or anything. Complete flush and parts replacement. I would start the process with Murphy.

they need to clean their tanks.

Adrian, what is considered proof a particular station caused this? Is receipt proof enough. Will their stance be that " we dont know if you fueled elsewhere right after here". Mileage isnt noted anywhere.Im just playing devils advocate here for myself if it happens to me.

It should be, but yes the gas station may contest it. As long as you report the issue within a reasonable time of the fuel being sold to you, it puts you in a better opportunity. Also, larger gas station chains typically have internal policies regarding this.

As long as you have your receipt that should have where, what time, what type of fuel, how many gallons, how much it cost. Pretty hard to fake a receipt now and days. How many miles does your truck have? Also when/if you get a sample of the fuel, can you post a picture? Thanks.
