I liked it with the steel wagon wheels too, but the wide aluminum rims look awesome on there. I like the cross member for the steps. I found a set of steps like those at a garage sale like new for $25 that will end up on mine. They're Carr brand.
Your not going to drive that in the winter are you?

I liked the steelies too, I'm putting that set on the Flareside and getting the back ones widened to 10" for some big tires. I forget the name of these steps, but they're similar to Carr. I like them for the tidy look. You got an awesome deal on those!
I'm driving it this winter, likely park it next winter though. I wanna have a little fun with it smashing through snow drifts. I'll be getting it oiled really well. One winter won't hurt it, besides now that I'm on the fire department I can bring it inside the hall nice and warm to melt off and wash it
Finally got my pillar gauges wired up. The gauges seem to suit the truck with the chrome ring. I didn't want them to look too modern. Not a great pic but I was trying to show them lit up, they're brighter than they look. Next will be the tach, it's only 4" so it won't take up too much space. I'd prefer not to put it on the dash pad since I was lucky to get one in decent shape Any suggestions/pics as to where to mount it?
When I got the '85 the carpet was all intact, but was badly faded and smelled like mouse ****. But I figured it was still savable, so here's how I did it.
Pressure washed it as much as possible. The dirt in these seemed to never stop coming out. Then I used stain remover, Folex is the name of it. Works awesome, I'd definately recommend it. It appeared to be oil stains in the carpet, this stuff took it right out. Just spray on and scrub with a stiff brush.
Once I vacuumed it out once more and let it dry I sprayed it with the Dupli Colour Vinyl and Fabric paint that I used on the interior panels. I love this stuff, Dupli Colour should be sponsoring me for all the advertising they're getting out of this truck. Before and after.
Right now, like stain remover and spray paint haha but it sure beats mouse ****! The smell doesn't last long though, usually a couple of days at the most. I've already got the front half of the interior put together and rammed full of air freshners. She's smelling like a brothel on wheels already
Got the grille and lights all in. The wiring was corroded pretty bad near the rear crossmember for the tailgate motor and of course, I couldn't find a good donor anywhere. So I cut out the bad stuff and fixed it right, should have got some pics. This thing is starting to look like a Bronco finally.
Also got some stainless fender trim for it as well. At first I wasn't sure what to think of it but it's really grown on me.
Looking good, Brad. And that is my favorite type of wheel well trim.
Thanks Gary. I like the fit of it for sure, it's made by TFP and has the rubber gasket around the outside too. What I wasn't expecting was that it stuck out from the body almost 1.5" which is great. It'll help keep the rocks off my paint, I'm sure those Mickeys are gonna toss some.
Man that is pretty cool looking. I've been staring at the last set of pics with the fender trim going back and forth, but like you they've grown on me
The more I look at them the more I like them. I was concerned with salt and moisture getting in behind them but I put lots of grease behind them so it shouldn't be a problem. They were no-drill mounting too.

I like the look of those, but I want to find an original ford set for my truck, they are a little bit thinner, and screw on. Bronco looks awesome though!

Thanks! I know the trim you mean, I was gonna get that but all the trim I could find on trucks around here was all dented up or cracked. There's still a lot of these trucks in the local yards but they're getting picked over and gradually crushed
