If you still have the top off the other bronco, you could paint one white and one blue and switch them back and forth.

Well, here it is. My first paint job. There's a couple runs that I'm going to fix and likely buff the whole thing but I sure can't complain.

Painted the floor and started tossing in the interior last night too

Good work, Brad! I like the last few slides where it just seems to assemble itself.

Haha I sometimes wish it would! But this is the fun part, just putting parts where they want to be. Not sanding and welding for a change

Thanks everyone! I've been stumbling across awesome deals like crazy the last few weeks. One of my friends from town, who happens to be another Bronco owner, came into the store the other day. As we were talking the subject of a solid axle came up. Long story short, he has a coil spring Dana 44 solid axle in his Dad's barn that apparently is just taking up space and I can have it for free! I don't know if the radius arms are with it or whether it's a pre-'78 or later axle or not but the price is right. Looks like I'll be looking into a SAS for the future.
Through a friend of a friend I managed to find a set of wheels as well. I like the original steelies with trim rings but I've wanted a set of these Ultra wheels since I bought the truck.

They're 15x10s with a -48mm offset. The guy I bought them from had them for about a year and needed some money right away, so they came up for sale. I got the set with centres for 200 bucks. I'll get actual pictures tomorrow once I get them polished up. I'll be putting the 15x8 steelies on the white Flareside once I get my drag radials next year. Wheeling and dealing used parts on the side helps me keep a little extra cash around for things like this

That's an awesome find on the axle and a super deal on the wheels. You do have a knack for wheeling and axleing.

Funny you should mention it, I got lots! Finally, after 4-5 hours with the SOS pad and Autosol (great stuff) the rims look mint. Got them mounted and balanced on the weekend. The offset looks exactly how I wanted it to, lots more attitude.
Got the tail light wiring fixed and tail lights in. They shine through the lenses not terribly but I may still get new ones. I currently have the wiring fixed EXCEPT the famous tailgate motor...

Last night Dad and I got the crossmember put in for the side steps. We tried mounting them on the rocker but there just wasn't enough support there. I'm not a wee fella, so we bolted a custom crossmember from one side to the other, it doesn't even wiggle now. And it's out of sight. Dad did the measurements and I welded it all up. Turned out pretty nice I think.

Brad - That crossmember looks ..... SERIOUS! And the welds are perfect. You must be a welder. Good job!

Thanks Gary, but I'm no welder haha. Just learned in the backyard, but I do have a good teacher We wanted to build it good and heavy so if I get some goofs jumping on the steps I don't have to worry about anything. I'll probably be using it as a mount for a skid plate as well.
