2002 7.3 boost improvement

I have heard several people say you can pull the red hose off the waste gate and plug it for more boost, is it bad for the engine or turbo?

You might want to install a boost gauge to see what sort of boost you get before and after the mod. I saw no difference in my boost doing this. I live at 7000' elevation, so that may impact total boost.

Where is the best place to get a boost guage and are they pretty easy to install?

Very easy to install - tee into one of the small plastic lines downstream of the turbo, or remove the AIH and buy the Riffraff fitting that replaces it (for this purpose).

I bought an Autometer 0-30 psi boost gauge. That should be plenty for a non-built-up engine. Don't buy a 0-60 psi gauge. The 7.3 forum has tons of info on this.
