How much boost does a 7.3 make?
I've never been able to monitor the boost on my 7.3 until today when i threw my SCT Xcal 3 on it and setup the datalogging to check all the temps and pressures. At running speeds like 60 mph the boost was reading 2.5-3 psi and at 70 it was reading 3.5-4 psi. I feel like this is either way to low and there is a leak somewhere or the sensor that reads boost psi is bad. Now when i flow it i see the boost climb up to 17-18 psi, which if i recall is max boost for a 7.3 (correct me if im wrong).
Any help is appreciated thanks

Heading down the freeway, just cruising, you're right where you wanna be.
Based on the info given in your post, I don't see anything wrong with your numbers.

yup x3
your numbers are good... better than good for a bone stock motor.
i see 12psi on mine max... but i know i have leaky up pipes...
at 70 i still see 2.5-3psi
check the connections where your up pipes meet up with the collector for soot when you do the leak test. if you see any... they need to be reworked... im swapping mine out for the bellowed internationals.

Yup... good numbers.
*NOTE* I saw comments on numbers that can be a little confusing to those who have not had a boost gauge before. The slightest incline/decline in the road or head/tail wind will move your boost number by 3 or 4 PSI during cruise. I get about 3 - 4 PSI during cruise at 65 MPH on the flat with no wind and I just got 10 PSI at 65 (empty) up a mountain pass today.

With a BD billet compressor wheel and waste gate actuator I can build 35psi. That's measured right at the compressor outlet and my boots are not in very good shape so I don't know how much of that is actually making it into the engine. I'll be replacing the boots (and up pipes) when I install the non EBPV turbo pedestal.
