I just installed a egt, volt, and boost gauge on my dads pickup, 2003 f350 wiht the 7.3 and im wondering where everyone hooks up the boost gauge. Its from autometer and uses a 1/8" nylon tube. Thanks for the help
I put mine on the intake after the intercooler on topside of motor. I checked around and found that is where you will be reading true boost numbers.
In that case "true" becomes a subjective term.
If you drill and tap the y-manifold before the charge air cooler you will read the actual boost the turbo is producing. If you drill and tap after it diffuses through the cooler your boost readings will be lower, about the same as if you were to Tee into the MAP line, which is measuring the actual amount of boost that is entering the engine.
