01 f250 boost question

hey guys i am about too install gauges (trans temp-pyro egt-boost)

my question is after searching here on the forums i cant find how high our trucks boost? i have a 20 psi boost gauge, but will the truck boost over 20 psi?
im trying to figure this out so i can get a new gauge that goes to 30 psi if necessary, before i install everything. thanks to all who reply !!

2002 F-350 7.3 shows 20 plus lbs. of boost occasionally. I used thr 0-35lbs. boost guage.

Your boost will see the 20 to 30 psi range, if you install either a programmer or a chip that ups the performance. It sounds like that's the dirction you heading. Always better to have too much than not enough. So I would say yes; go with the 30 psi gauge.

i made the mistake of installing a 25 psi gauge, with a few mods i can now bury it at will. depending on what you want to do to the truck i would get at least a 30 psi gauge

thanks guys for the feedback!
i plan on upgrading the compressor wheel with a banks one to produce more boost and reduce compressor surge. so id rather buy the correct one now.
these garrets are triple the size of the turbo i had on my subaru wrx, and garrets are much easier to work on instead of ihi turbos or mitsu turbos.

With stock fueling the aftermarket wheel will make less boost. Also, a 20 psi gauge will be plenty with stock fuel.
