A low washer light is useful and if it fails it's not like operation of the vehicle or even the fluid pump will fail as well. With that said it has zero bearing on whether I buy a vehicle or even if I like or don't like it durning ownership.
I usually check and fill fluids in my vehicles regularly. So much so that I bought my wife a new Toyota in 2010 and I just found out it had a low washer fluid light when it came on for the first time the other day.
I think he means that people say whatever they want typing at a computer. Why do you have to be so negative MisterCMK? Asking if there is a windshield wiper fluid light isn't completely out of this world. I have one on my 2012 Ford Focus SE, and had one on my 1998 Lincoln Continental.
OP,
Just one of those things that you have to check manually, with the Super Duty trucks they are more orientated towards working. Also like somebody else previously said I know when mine is out when I press the button and nothing comes out.
Are we supposed to put kid gloves on here? I am not negative, I am calling it as I see it. Asking if there is a warning light isn't out of this world. Complaining that there isn't one and calling it a "safety issue" is ridiculous. Blaming the lack of a warning light for running out not once but twice is silly.
Even if you had an idiot light you still would not have the washer fluid with ya. My 2000 Dodge Dakota had a sensor for the low washer fluid. Problem with that was it always would ding at you when stopping, or going down a hill. It was annoying. Anytime I get an oil change the garage always tops it off for me. I cant remember the last time I had to add washer fluid.
Dumb question but.......My 2012 F350 Lariat has run out of washer fluid twice with NO low fluid light! (what a pain in the (&(*(* in the middle of no where! and no extra fluid with you!
Called dealer, and he said he did not think it had a sensor! I asked him to look it up both times now and he never gets back to me. Called a 2nd dealer and he never got back to me.
Can it be that in todays age of computers and gov. safety requirements that these do not have a low fluid sensor?
Please let me know the facts! THANKS
Are you F%^*G kidding me?????????? Its a F&*(#g truck..... If you want that buy a bmw.............
There were a few mentions of checking the fluid level. How do you do that?? If I recall right the tank on my '11 takes ≈1½ gallons. I can see the top 3 inches of the filler neck. Where should I be looking??

Most tanks are hidden pretty good on newer vehicles, but all you have to do is take the cap off and look down in it. All I can see on my 2000 is the neck and top of the tank, but I just add fluid when it looks low.
My Hyundai has a curved neck that you can't see down either. They went high-tech with the solution... something called a dipstick? Every time I ask around the shop what it is everyone just say's "you're one" and I can't figure it out?
I just stick to one type of fluid and add it until it's full. The methyl alcohol or whatever is in it to make it "winterized" won't evaporate off from either the tank or container fast enough to make leaving an open bottle on the shelf a concern.
I changed my air filter yesterday and felt particularly knuckle-headed. The windshield washer fluid tank was easily visible under the battery at the forward side. This is on an '11 6.2L.
I can see not having an outside air temp.....but I never heard of not having a low washer fluid sensor......these are $65K vehicles! On board computers and wired for safety all over.......
I guess it is not UN-SAFE to drive 20 miles to the nearest gas station and not be able to see out your windshield!!!
Insanity!
Are you sure you turned off the stove at home!
Did the light go out inside your refrigerator when you closed the door?
Folks need to accept some responsibility on themselves!

I don't know how many Orlandos there are but I guess we're talking about Florida. If you try splashing water on the windshield at -10F you'll hit it with ice. If your survival kit has a bottle of gin that may work!
