The resevoir is full, the light remains on. On the tank there is the pump, and what looks to be the fluid level sensor. The "sensor" was loose enough that I was able to pull it out. It is rectngular and has a plug on one end.
Has anybody run into this? Did you have to buy the part from the dealer?
While I'm not having the exact same problem as you are, when my reservoir is 1/2 full, my washer fluid light comes on. The pump and sensor are still covered with fluid. I have just dealt with it and add fluid until the reservoir is full, then the light goes out. But, not sure about your situation. There are a few online Ford parts dealers who sell OEM Motorcraft parts at discounted prices. I forget the names of them off the top of my head, but if I have time later, I will get them for you and post them here for you to look at.
I found my answer, I don't like it but I found it. The sensor only comes with the resevoir. The dealer wants $140, parts guy Ed $90 plus shipping I would guess.
Since it was loose, I am going to try super glue first and see if that does it. Second choice is going to be a parts yard.
