Washer Fluid Reservoir/Warning Light

Hey all,

Just wanted to run this by you.. couldn't find it after a few quick searches.

I've noticed the my washer fluid warning light comes on and the washer fluid won't come up shortly thereafter.. which is completely normal, but when I go to fill up the reservoir, it still looks to be about half full! The first time it happened, I thought it might be a fluke, but then it happened again this weekend.

Is this normal, or do I have some sort of sensor and/or suction problem?

The bottom half of the bottle is much narrower and holds much less volume than the top half.

So how much fluid does it hold then? (Still have to look in my owners manual)

I was expecting a big vehicle like this to take at least a full jug.. but it's only taking like 3/4..

As a matter of fact my light came on last night so I filled mine. It took about 3/4 of a gallon too. So I think your good, no problems.

Cool, thanks alloro.

Just checked the manual and it takes 4.1L.. or 4.5 quarts. So yeah, with the remaining amount in the bottom, that sounds exactly right.

I was going to say if I let mine run down to the point where nothing comes out anymore when I use the sprayer, it will ALMOST but not quite take a full gallon if I fill it right to the top of the fill spout. But even then it still leave some in the gallon jug. I usually get quite a bit of use out of it even after the light comes on.
