No low washer fluid indicator light??

Dumb question but.......My 2012 F350 Lariat has run out of washer fluid twice with NO low fluid light! (what a pain in the (&(*(* in the middle of no where! and no extra fluid with you!

Called dealer, and he said he did not think it had a sensor! I asked him to look it up both times now and he never gets back to me. Called a 2nd dealer and he never got back to me.

Can it be that in todays age of computers and gov. safety requirements that these do not have a low fluid sensor?

Please let me know the facts! THANKS

No sensor. Your indicator is the WEEEERRRRR you get when you press the button and no fluid comes out.

My fairly well loaded 2010 XLT diesel, has no outside air temperature sensor either, I guess I should have splurged and gone for the King Ranch!

I can see not having an outside air temp.....but I never heard of not having a low washer fluid sensor......these are $65K vehicles! On board computers and wired for safety all over.......

I guess it is not UN-SAFE to drive 20 miles to the nearest gas station and not be able to see out your windshield!!!

I've never owned a vehicle with a washer fluid indicator.

I guess it's not un-smart to raise the hood on occasion to check the fluid level? Or maybe keep a gallon with you if you're 20 miles from the nearest place that sells it?

I am 40 years old now and I have never owned one that did not have it! I have 4 kids, wife, 60+ hours work/week...ect........don't really have time to think of my washer fluid! (mainly cause I never have had to) Even my wife's van has a sensor for both the back and front washer tank!

Just try to fit anything else behind or under the seat! Between spare DEF, Filters, Tools, rags, Kids stuff, bla, bla, bla........NO ROOM!

these trucks have half empty fuse panels and fully computer controlled, No reason for Ford not to install the sensor on EVERY vehicle they make!

It not a passenger car

My wife VW does have it.

I am in a lot of trucks and I have not see a light for that. I know my 2005 Suburban did not have it. I think it is type of car you where driving before.

Super Duty are meant to be tuff and take abuse. Windshield wiper fluid warning light is kind of in the other direction. Water works fine to clean your windows and you can use it. Also I know when my is running out because of the change in noise.

Water ? Maybe in south florida. Have to use winter grade washer fluid here. But I'll admit a low washer fluid light isn't very high on the priority list when truck shopping.

Water this time of year in Michigan turns into something much less useful......

To the op, no sensor here either. This is on my very short gripe list on our trucks as well.

There should be an Owner's Manual light on the dash. It stays lit until you read the manual cover to cover.

I would think that at 40 years old you would know enough to check the fluid when you check your oil. You do check your oil, right?

There's a light for that on the 6.7L Probably gonna need a light to make sure the key is in the ignition next. Or that the fob thingy is near enough to the truck to start it. Or whatever it takes to start one of these technological (minus washer fluid sensor) marvels.

Capacity leaves me wanting as well. I've topped mine off before departing knowing I'm going be dealing with lake effect snow, and run it dry in one sitting. Having a "hey dummy"message would be nice when your effectively blinded 30 seconds after, trying to judge an off ramp to add more. Yeah, you get a feel for it after a while but is still annoying.
