Really? I take back what I said then, My bad for the mistake and wrong info. I was going off my dealership! So I guess moral of the story here is that each dealership is different and we can't tell you whats gonna happen. Good luck with the mirror whatever way you go.
Please do not take this the wrong way, however I do not understand how one can pay 60K + /- for a new truck and then not wait until the warranty is up before one modifies it?
Its situations like a simple 450 dollar mirror that screams wait to me.
Just my humble opinion.
And please no offense intended just, I have always wondered this reading these forums.
I waited 4000 miles and 6 months to tune it. It was lifted and whatnot as soon as I got it home. Folding mirrors aren't the end of the world. More power and a straight pipe are far more important to me.
Well now heck if my Passenger mirror didn't lock up this weekend.
45 degrees & slush filled roads the day before then down to 15 at night.
Folded the mirrors in a tight spot & the passenger mirror stayed put. Reversed the process & it worked fine.
I would of been alarmed but realized it was just frozen up as gleaned from previous input on this thread.
Simple subject, great thread along with the information & input in all of FTE.
I have the same mirrors on my F-150 and one is slower. I see that a piece of tape is hanging out on both sides. If you fold them in you can see it. Should I peel it off? Or does that make them rattle or vibrate?
I got the mirror disease now. It's just one thing after another with this truck. The drivers side mirror won't move on its own and I have to help it. My truck gets parked in the garage every night, but I can't get it in there without folding the mirrors. That's why this option was a "must have" on my truck. This is the truck that is supposed to take care of me through my retirement and RV travels for the next 10 or more years. I won't be able to afford to keep it on the road after the warranty runs out. I must have a Monday truck.
