Just because o-rings are bad doesn't mean the pump is bad. Why did you pull it in the first place? If because of a huge oil leak / dump, then check the HPOP hoses.
I was going thru oil like crazy, 5 quarts in 10 miles. Replaced Oil Cooler last week, now fixing leaks on HPOP, one was fuel line, and the other was the non-serviceable plug.
yes. that 0-ring is off my IPR, I have rebuild kit coming today, I hope. Could my massive oil leak have come from there?
I am no expert, because the volume you are talking about is quite heavy. However, if that o-ring was busted, you can see the channel cut in the threads would allow oil to shoot right through there under high pressure, and with a cut/busted o-ring there wouldn't be too much to stop the oil from coming out. So I suppose it is possible that was your culprit.

My theory is the IPR was not tight in the pump and backed off which allowed oil pressure to cut the o-ring. Yes it would be a massive leak. Check the unserviceable plug, based on the picture, it looks like it was leaking also. For that plug to leak it would also have to become loose and oil blow by the o-ring.
Was all that oil landing on the ground or disappearing somewhere else?
The reason I ask is because a blown injector oring will dump oil into your fuel.
not very much oil on ground, but I do have oil in my fuel. I was hoping to see something distinctive on the o-rings, they defin. look worn out, but nothing obvious. going to pull the other bank tomorrow. thanks everyone for your feedback, love this site.
