I had just replaced my CPS about 2-3 weeks ago after my stock one failed. I replaced it with the grey OEM one. All was well with no issues. Today I was driving in the rain and all the sudden it cut out. I went for another mile to my destination and it was ok. I'm going to rerun home and il see if it does it again. This sounds like another CPS. Why do these things fail? How can't ford fix this problem. Thanks

The 'rain' is your flag. it is not the CPS. Mine did this several time when I drove in the rain and hit a puddle. Water sprayed up and hit the CPS and it would kill the truck as if it was shut of at the key. I ended up taking it off and sealing the CPS where it goes in the block and putting sealant where it plugs in. No problems since.... reseal the CPS and plug and it should be just fine.
