i love my milwaukee tools i use em daily 1/2 and 3/8 cordless about to get a set of fuels
I had the conventional Milwaukee 18V since 1997, and I even upgraded from NiCad to LiIon a few years back. There was a trade-in special last year, so I swapped my driver/hammer drill and one battery to get a better price on the Fuel driver/hammer drill and impact set. It's a whole new world. Well worth the upgrade, even without the trade-in. You can always sell the old set. I'm getting ready to sell the circular and reciprocating saws to go full Fuel.
its a new line of tools from milwuakee, the company claims they're really good, longer run time better power, blah blah,i have dewalt tools so i am not a fan,go yellow
I work with people who have every brand on the market, but Dewalt is default. I've used them all, and they were all about on par (for performance) with my "old Milwaukee" - but some were smaller, had a light feature, had another bell/whistle, or were lighter weight. Nothing really waved a flag, screaming "Trade up to me!" Mine kept taking what I was dishing out, and I was on my third set of brushes.
The Milwaukee Fuel series hits the reset button on cordless power tools. It has a brushless DC motor for starters - and an LED light on the face is a huge help. While the torque can injure you if you're not careful, that's nothing new. What is new is the battery life. Remember, I went from original drill with V18 batteries to Fuel with M18 batteries, so I'm not comparing ancient battery technology to the latest. Every time I check my battery, I'm thinking "Geeze... when is this thing gunna run out?"
I haven't seen anything from Dewalt that matches Fuel yet, but they have a nice radio. I was looking at the Milwaukee M18™ Jobsite Radio/Charger two days ago... Bluetooth now, a charging USB port, a 3.5mm aux jack and cord, and a pocket for a portable device. Hell... it even had an equalizer. Everybody is going to be making these units with with about the same capability. As long as a tool battery charger has a charging USB port, or a support tool (like a light or radio) has one - I'm thumbs-up
As a journeyman millwright who counts on tools working I prefer Milwaukee Fuel also, hands down there the best on the market today. I used to go through cordless tools constantly. The only Milwaukee I've managed to kill has been a 1/2" drive impact and I probably shouldn't have been doing what I was doing with it
John that's funny to me. I've had the dewalt tools still do, but the Milwaukee 1/2" impact has been the best. My 1/2" dewalt tool was great at first but wore out quick. Wouldn't keep the torq up etc,. Didn't know about the Fuel tools, next time around I'll have to give it a chance.
I've been looking at the Milwaukee 3/8 ratchet driver for awhile now. I started getting tired of hearing the air compressor run all the time a long time ago. After looking at the Milwaukee line of power tools I started thinking about what else I could use on the vehicles for repairs. So, what other Milwaukee power tools have you guys found to be a good fit (size) with enough torque to work on the vehicles with?
