Edge Insight CTS question

I started getting this message lately on my CTS every time I start it up. I have to touch the screen before it will go to my guages. The message says "Max PID limit has been reached. To view more unique PIDs,try turning off some of the PID alerts. Touch screen to continue." Anyone know how to get rid of this "alert"? I dont remember doing anything to trigger this and did not have it before. Thanks.

I haven't ever heard of this. Go to Edge's website or call them and maybe they can help you.

Are you using alerts? I would first try turning off all alerts and see if that fixes the problem.

I have the same problem, I have turned off the alerts and still get the message. I contacted EDGE, and they responded that they want me to call when I was with the truck and computer so they could diagnose. They are only open during the week and 8-5 mountain time so I have not been able to call yet since I am at work during those times.

If you call and get a fix please let me know what it is, for now it is annoying, but at least it works.

The only alert i really use is whrn the DPF is @ 98% (so i know a regen is about to happen). But I have had that on all along. Guess i will have to live with it or call them.

I just updated mine and I have the same problem. I thought I had it fixed for a bit but it's back. On my second screen (the one that shows the truck angle) there were several PIDs that were the same I changed them around and I thought it cleared the problem but I kept playing around with some of the new PIDs (to me anyway) on my first screen and now the problem is there again. This is my thought anyway is that there are too many of the same PIDs selected between the different screens. It wasn't a priority yesterday so I never kept at it, but when I get a chance I am going to eliminate so many of the duplicates. I have never worked with any of the alerts but did notice last night that they were turned on.

I got a chance to play with my gauge a little this afternoon. Two things after playing with it a bit it started shutting off, tap the screen a couple of times and it would restart.

The second thing is that I turned off the 8 gauge option and it seems to have got rid of the message "Max PID limit has been reached. To view more unique PIDs,try turning off some of the PID alerts. Touch screen to continue." but it did shut off on me when I went to change a PID so it sounds like I will need to call Edge myself.

Here is the latest from Edge. "We have found this issue to be tied to the distance between regeneration parameter. *It doesn't seem you are watching that parameter so I am not sure what the issue is here. *You may want to try to change out the DPF pids for others to see if that can help. *We will try to recreate your issue monitoring those same pids in the meantime." I havent messed with it yet, but sounds like they dont really know whats up.

I finally had a chance to call Edge on Friday, like everyone always said they have never heard of this issue before. Anyway they got it fixed, they had me hook it up to a computer and then fusion software and they did a hard reset. I had to set up my gauges again, not that big of a deal, but it has been working flawlessly since.

Hope that helps, if they don't know what to do when you call, ask for a hard or master reset.

Leon

So any other updates on the problem or is everyone getting them hard reset?

I went into mine and deleted the DPF soot count and the DPF % full (or whichever two PID's watch the DPF). Then I added them back in, and that fixed my problem. I don't know how or why, but it worked for me.

I had mine working good also, then I changed one of the PIDs and it went back to acting up. I finely got it working right again, went to one of the other screens and changed the PID's so I didn't have duplicates between the two screen. Seems to be working again.

Cheers !!

I purchased and received a few days ago an Edge Insight CTS2, and I have been have this problem. When I get the MAX PID message, the unit then soon after will crash. Any feedback on what the fix is for this. Does a hard reset fix the problem for good?

Did you download the Fusion program from Egde to bring your CTS up to date?

Yep, updated the unit upon unboxing. Also, registered it with Edge online. Then, installed it to the truck in accordance with the manual instructions. The system looks nice ... until it gives the error message and then crashes.
