Bought an Insight monitor last week. When I start my truck it doesn't come on. I have to unplug then plug & it works fine. Is this the way it is supposed to work? Is there an easy fix, or do I need to call Edge for a fix?
Yeah...Since I unplug every time I start it, it asks what type of fuel, and wheither I want the ensight settings or the ones I loaded. ( I guess its since I have to unplug it?)
Yeah, if you unplug you do have to select those things. I don't know what to tell you other than mine does not act like that. Sorry. Edge folks should be good to deal with.
I installed the insight on my 2010 F350 and I have the same problem. Contacted Edge and was told they are aware of the problem but don't have a fix. This was back in Oct 09. I've called serveral times since and still no fix nor an estimated date. This last time I call, 15 Jan, I asked for a refund, was told they would get back, have heard anything yet! I'm looking for a good monitor/gauge system something like the Insight but that works, any suggestions?
Dashdaq at Drew Technologies makes a real nice one, a little bit spendier though. I don't think you need to buy tunes with it, if you want to stay stock. I'm going to stay stock for the next few years for warranty. The Insight was priced right for a simple monitor, but I don't want to unplug all the time. You think they would at least exchange the unit for another that wasn't defective.
Mine also comes on everytime I turn the key on. Only unplugged it once about a week ago to do a firmware update, only to find it is up-to-date. When I plugged it back in, I had to the selection process, but not since. Something is not right with yours...
Just got off the phone with Edge. "very unusual problem" was what he said. But after a couple more questions, he offered up to send me a new one with cable. Will see if the new one works in a day or so.

Geez... Received my replacement gizmo and harness in the mail today...but wait. Pluged both into my truck & it works fine. Shut it off, turn back on a few minutes later, same problem, the unit will not turn on. Tried new monitor old harness, new harness old monitor, does not work.
I'm starting to think this may be problem with the truck. '08s work, mine is a '09 Frank yours is a '10 & they don't seem to work...or its a software problem. Arrrgh!
I'll see what they have to say tomorrow. Sure is a cowinkidink that two have the same problem. It's gotta be something else. There I go thinkin' again.
I talked to Edge this morning. They confirmed that it is a software problem with '09s an '10s. So now I'm basicly SOL. till they can find the glitch in their queery.
